Hi everyone and welcome back to That UFO Podcast. My name is Andy and this is the first of two shows coming out today. I'm going to ask you just to very quickly humor me on this one. It's actually a repeat however there is a little bit of new information I'm going to tell you now right at the start. This is a little bit of an advertisement for my book which is coming out still this September, The Atlas of Unidentified Flying Objects. A lot of you have asked about signed copies of the book and I've found through my publisher a small independent bookshop in Corbridge in the UK who will be shipping copies of the book signed throughout the world so wherever you are you can pick up a signed copy. It really means a lot to me that anyone wants me to sign or dedicate a book to them so it's Forum Books. If you check the description to this podcast you'll see a link for Forum Books and they will ship to anywhere in the world. If you go on there you can go through checkout, leave a message, leave your name, whatever you want me to say in the book and in early September I'm going to go along to the bookshop itself however many copies have been pre-ordered when they get them in and I'm going to sign and dedicate those as people have asked. So thank you so much for making that happen that really does mean a lot to me. However Amazon just in the last 24 hours has put a special offer on the book reducing it by about 18 percent and so if you've pre-ordered on Amazon already you don't have to do anything you get the pre-order price guarantee. However if you haven't ordered it now may be a good time and listen pre-orders really make a big difference to me. The algorithm, the publisher likes to see the pre-order numbers as well. Thank you if you have done so. If you haven't I would really appreciate if you were considering jump on and pre-order on Amazon. The money doesn't come out until the book's ready to be dispatched nearer the time. However what I'm going to do now is play the short podcast I put out around a month ago which tells you the story of how the book came about, the writing of the book, what's included within the book. I've done a video online of what the book looks like now. I've got an advanced copy and it has a wonderfully put together piece folks. It's hardcover only for the moment, beautifully illustrated, lots of maps, pictures, lots of great detail in there. About 34 different cases from across the globe on the UFO topic. So thank you so much again folks for having an interest, paying lip service to this. There's another show coming out later on today where I'm looking at a few different things but for the purposes here signed copies are available. The pre-order links are in the description. Check those out. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much. My name is Andy and a very special announcement here for you folks. Some of you may have seen this if you're on the Patreon. I did post it and I did a special Discord live just yesterday as well. What I'm going to do is give you the announcement first and you'll see the link in the description and if you want to go away and not listen to the rest of it I'm going to share the story of how it came about. This won't be a long podcast, very much an announcement but I'd appreciate just a couple of minutes of your time. So you may see from the title of the episode I've got a book coming out. It's due for release in September, mid-September this year. Proper publisher, you know, book, all that kind of stuff. It's a really nice put together piece and it's called Atlas of Unidentified Flying Objects and Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena. It's from the Unexpected Atlas series and I've done the UFO one for it. Essentially folks, this is available for pre-order as we speak and any and all of you who can pre-order it, it would be greatly appreciated. I've put the Genius link which gives you, when you click on it, it'll give you Amazon, Waterstones, Bookshop.org and Barnes & Noble. Those are some of the organizations you can order through. If you order it through any of those now, it makes a big difference to me because pre-ordering means the book might be popular and these companies will order in more and they will push it and advertise it, all that kind of stuff as well. This one is just going out to you on the paid feeds just now. I wanted to let supporters of me directly know about the book and the project first. So far with the early drip feeding, there's been a wonderful reaction and if you can and would like to support me in pre-ordering the book, I would greatly appreciate it. If you click on the link in the podcast, you can go and see that. I don't think really now there's much more to say other than I'll share the story of how it came about, but you might hear some adverts on the podcast over the next few months from me, just little quick snippets to say pre-order Atlas of Unidentified Flying Objects available in September. So yeah, it's available for pre-order now, folks. And if you want to stick around for just a couple of minutes, I'll kind of share the story of how it came about because if anyone's got any questions for me, please feel free to email them in to ufouapam at gmail.com. So essentially, back when the David Grush stuff happened in July 2023 at the hearing, the day after that, I got a call or a text message to be on UK radio station and just to do the usual couple of minutes piece on this guy in the United States had said some incredible stuff yesterday at a hearing. Can you tell us about it? That couple of minutes went well. I sat in the car outside of the house before 8am in the morning. It was a pretty cold morning, I remember, and recorded in the car on the radio. And then I got a message about an hour later asking me if I would do like a longer form conversation that afternoon, again for BBC Radio 2, pretty big radio station in the UK. And they wanted me on a call-in show to talk about UFOs along with an astrophysicist and someone else was on. And I said, yeah, why not? And then I realised they'd sent me a link for like television software. And essentially, it was also going to be simulcast on the TV that afternoon. So I had to go into work. I was in the office that day in my day job. And I spent my lunchtime doing an hour live on the TV. That went well. You may wonder, how does all this amount to a book? Well, a week or two after that, I got a message from a publisher asking me if I wouldn't mind having a conversation with them. And I always like to say yes, I think it's polite to have a conversation. But I'm not always instantly saying yes to any project that gets offered to me just for time reasons and everything else. And it's got to really interest me. Just with life in general, folks, you know, I'm a busy guy, aren't we all? And essentially, I said yes. And they got on a call with me and they talked about the project. They have a series of books. They have, I'm just getting the book now. They have things like Atlas of Vanishing Places, Atlas of Paranormal Places. And they are books where you get cases and famous, what the UFO book's going to have are 34 cases from crash retrievals like Roswell, Kingsman, Kecksburg, Virginia, abductions like the Bass Strait and the Australia, Pascagoula, Devil's Den. There are military incidents like Tehran in Iran, Shag Harbor, Canada, the Belgian wave, civilian and close encounters as well. And it's basically a book that's got an international flavor to it. I think it's probably half United States or North America, half rest of the world. And throughout the book, if you click on the links, you'll see there are maps interspliced with them. It's over 200 pages in length, proper hardback, really beautiful presentation. The team that worked on it with me has done great work. I put the information from the cases down on paper. They have created the maps. They have went and researched the pictures and got the picture permissions to put in the book. Graham Rendell, author and historian, helped me with some of the fact checking as well, which I really greatly appreciate Graham's help along the way. He's a real author, proper author. So, yeah, it's a project that I spent from really from August 2023 working on. But the bulk of it I wrote last year, I spent time in work at lunchtimes. I would go to Starbucks in an evening. I spent a lot of last year European Championships football tournament that was on in the summer. I stayed after work, put the football on in the background and I would watch documentaries and I would look up articles and kind of cross-reference stuff and done my best to put together a book that one would folks who are well-versed in a UFO topic could enjoy and get something from. A real coffee table book, folks. You can pick it up, read a case and put it down. Or you can share it with friends, people new to the subject. It could make a great secret Santa type gift as well. But yeah, that's how it came about. I finished it round about February. It's finally off to the printers and now the pre-orders are available. So what I'll say, folks, there is I'll leave it there and just say again, the link is in the description. It's called Atlas of Unidentified Flying Objects and Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena. Thank you so much for listening. Thank you for so much for listening to the podcast for five years that has given me the opportunity to do this. I'm greatly appreciated of it from the people at Ivy Press who allowed me the opportunity to do this. I really hope you get something from it if you choose to do so and support me. It would be greatly appreciated whether you pre-order now in a couple of weeks time, a couple of months, or you wait until the book comes out. Or if it's not for you, then fair play it's not for you. But I hope the work and time I put into it comes across. And I'd really appreciate if you can click pre-order, stick it in the basket and wait for that coming out as well. There is a Kindle version available that you can get as well. People have asked about an audiobook. I don't think so. One, because for the love of Christ, imagine me reading an audiobook. But also, given the presentation of it, it's got all the content, the information and text, but there's a lot of pictures and colourful maps and whatnot that I've put in there as well for additional data. So I don't know how much an audiobook would necessarily even work. But any questions, please email me over. Thank you so much to anyone who has pre-ordered so far. And I'll do a larger announcement later in the week for the normal free podcast feeds. But for now, this is for all of you out there who support me on the podcast on Patreon, Apple Premium, Spotify, YouTube. Thank you so, so much. And if the link in the description for any reason doesn't work, if you go to the new website, thatufopodcast.com, you'll see right at the top of the website, a link that takes you to the book ordering page as well. So thank you so much. Let me know your thoughts. Let me know what you think. And I look forward to speaking to you all very, very soon.
